The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) is frequently asked to comment on proposals prepared by government departments, committees of inquiry, parliamentary committees and other public bodies. The Society is able to draw upon a broad range of experts from amongst its Fellowship and marshal input from expertise that lies outwith the Fellowship in responding to these invitations to provide written or oral evidence from an independent and objective viewpoint.

 

In March 2011, the RSE produced responses to the following consultations:

 

  • The Scottish Government consultation on Delivering Sustainable Flood Risk Management; and

 

  • The SQA consultation on the Course Rationale for the new National 4 & 5 Qualifications for History
