CGAP is the UK’s first dedicated research centre on charitable giving and philanthropy. It aims to stimulate awareness and understanding of how, beyond government or markets, individuals voluntarily contribute to funding the public good.

Doing this effectively means that the different knowledge and perspectives of academics, policy-makers, charities and donors have to be brought together. CGAP’s mission is to generate a new engagement between all the stakeholders who support charitable giving and philanthropy in modern society.
