The Centre for Public Policy and Management (CPPM) undertakes research and consultancy in Scottish and European public policy. Although it has now been absorbed into Aberdeen Business School, the Centre is continuing to function as a research unit.
The CPPM undertakes applied policy research in a wide range of fields, relating not only to the public sector but to voluntary, non-profit and commercial agencies undertaking similar patterns of work. The general role of the Centre may be described as
- policy analysis, understood both as the analysis of policy and analysis for policy
- research of interest for public policy , and
- research applied to practical problems (as opposed either to fundamental social research, or policy research within previously defined fields of concern).
The staff attached to the centre have backgrounds in policy analysis, social administration, management, planning, law, economics and social research. |
